THE Department of Education in KwaZulu-Natal said it is ready to administer the Annual National Assessment (ANA) starting on September 10.

All pupils from grades 1 to 6 and Grade 9 in public mainstream, special and state-subsidised independent schools are being registered in a bid to improve the administration of ANA.

The process of capturing the registration of all pupils will be finalised by today.

• More than 1,2 million pupils will write the ANA;

• 30 million test papers will be printed;

• 442 markers have been selected to mark the test papers; and

• 46 nodal points have been identified for the delivery and distribution of test papers.

Packaging of the test papers will start on Thursday, and the distribution will be done from September 2.

Delivery is scheduled for September 2 to 5.
