• 5.30 pm. A cordial invitation to attend a free introductory meeting of Toastmasters at the Hilton Hotel. The Toastmasters eight-week public speaking course can help build confidence and self-esteem at the office, in business, and even at home. Contact Peter Southwood at 033 343 4803.

WEDNESDAY

• The Comedy Revolution Tour featuring Martin Davis (UK) and Glen BO (KZN/UK) arrives at Bellissimo’s in Howick. Tickets to the show are R50 per person and R30 for students, which are available at the door. To reserve seats, contact Jimmy at 083 348 4274. Age restriction for all shows is 18 years.

• 7 am. Howick Bird Group — change of venue for the morning outing. The Bird of Prey Sanctuary has asked the club to postpone its visit to the sanctuary as the staff are going to a conference. • 7.30 am for 8 am. The Institute of People Management (IPM) May breakfast presentation will focus on 360-degree feedback, which includes a network opportunity. To be held opposite the ICC Durban at 90 Ordnance Road. Inquiries: 031 573 2949.

• 7.30 am. The annual Roseway Ramble will be held at the school, with food, activities and crafters. Inquiries: 031 768 1309.

• 1.10 pm-1.50 pm. The South African Society of Music Teachers presents a free lunch-hour concert at the Tatham Art Gallery, featuring Ted Brien’s Friends of Note Recorder Ensemble playing music ranging from early Baroque to present day arrangements. Inquiries: 033 394 1818.

• 5.15 pm. The Cathedral Chamber Choir rehearses each Wednesday evening in the Anglican Cathedral. All singers welcome.

THURSDAY

• 7 am-10.30 am. Market at Alexandra Road (opposite police station). Fresh veg, fruit, honey and crafts.

• 10 am. The Hayfields Haymakers meet every Thursday in the Lutheran Church in Bester Road, Hayfields. Weekly sessions start with a cup of tea or coffee at 10 am, followed by a talk, demonstration, bingo or music. Lunch is served at noon, costs R20 and needs to be booked by 11 am on Wednesdays at 033 344 2322. Inquiries to Shirley Smith at 033 386 2126.

• 3 pm. Msunduzi Hospice Association is holding its annual general meeting at the Hospice Conference Centre, 200 Zwartkop Road, Prestbury. Refreshments will be served after the meeting.
