Dog found hanged

2011-12-16 00:00

A DOG was found hanged from a tree in Eastwood yesterday.

The gruesome find was reported to the SPCA by a person who dropped off some abandoned kittens he had found.

Senior inspector Jeanette Salzwedel and field officer Poulos Nxabi went to the area to investigate and found the dog hanging from a tree in a field at the end of Hawk Road.

“A large crossbreed tan dog was found hanging from a branch by a chain with a black stocking wrapped around its neck. It appeared that the dog had been there for a few days as it was already starting to decompose,” the SPCA said.

The SPCA appeals to anyone who knows who the culprits are to contact it on 033 386 9267.

Unwanted animals should be handed to the SPCA, it said. — WR.
