Dolphins’ tie rained out again

2013-03-27 00:00

PERSISTENT rain throughout the day yesterday saw the Ram Slam T20 Challenge match between the Dolphins and Warriors at Kingsmead called off without a coin flipped toss or a ball bowled.

Both sides had to be content with sharing the points at two apiece.

For the Dolphins, it was the story of a season that has been well “watered”, rain playing havoc with fixtures in all formats.

This has cost the Dolphins points and the chance to build any momentum, resulting in below par performances when they have been able to take to the field.

Last night’s match was to be one of pride for the Dolphins. They were clearly out of contention in the competition, but they were keen to play to give their fans something positive to take home, wanting a win. It was not to be and the two points gleaned mean little.

The Dolphins sign off their season at the Wanderers tomorrow, playing the Lions in a match the Dolphins will be keen to win.

After a season of missed opportunities and reflection on what could have been, a win away from home, against arguably the best franchise side this season, will be as good as bringing a trophy home to Kingsmead.
