Drunk driver leaves car after accident

2013-12-24 00:00

AN alleged drunk driver abandoned his vehicle at the scene of an accident at the Ohrtmann and Bambatha intersection last night and ran into the surrounding bushes.

Witnesses at the scene alleged that the driver appeared drunk and they suspected that he was hiding to avoid being locked up on a drunken driving charge.

The suspect, believed to come from a prominent business family in the city, knocked into a government-owned vehicle.

Police at the scene would not comment to the media. The driver of the other vehicle was shaken up but not hurt.
