Durban: Soapie stars sizzle in sold-out show

India’s hottest on-and-off screen couple, Indian television stars Sushant Singh Rajput (centre) and Ankita Lokhande of the well- known Indian daily soap opera Pavitra Rishta on Zee Television, perform with Bollywood singer Udit Narayan at a sold-out show in Durban on Saturday.

The legendary Narayan has sung more than 15,000 songs in 30 different languages and performed over 1100 stage shows over his three decade career. Narayan has bagged several national and international awards and in 2009 received the Padma Shree award from the Government of India. The award, the 4th highest civilian is to recognise the distinguished contribution in the activity including Arts, Education, Literature, Sports, Social Science and public life.The second show was held at Carnival City in Johannesburg on last night.

Durban born singer Shashika Moorut shared a stage with well known popular Bollywood palyback singer Udit Narayan ( left )during the “Udit Narayan and Zee Stars “concert at the Durban Exhibition Centre at a sold out show on Saturday night.

Mooruth a household name in South Africa has become a celebrity artist locally and in India as she has shared stages and performed with well known Bollywood music directors,singers and worked with producers.

Mooruth who also resides in Mumbai, India has performed in 25 countries including a select audience at the United Nations.

Mooruth sings in the genres of pop,devotional,semi-classical,film and techno compositions.The legendary Narayan has sung more than 15,000 songs in 30 different languages and performed over 1100 stage shows over his 3 decade career.
