‘Ebersohn up to international rugby’

2014-05-09 00:00

CAPE TOWN — Cheetahs backline coach Hawies Fourie believes Force flyhalf Sias Ebersohn is good enough to play international rugby.

Ebersohn will tackle his former team-mates when his side face the Cheetahs in a Super Rugby clash in Bloemfontein tomorrow.

The South African has been instrumental in the Western Australian side’s revival this year, helping them to fifth spot on the overall log, with six wins from nine outings.

Fourie — who coached Ebersohn during his time at the Cheetahs — believes he made the right call to go to Australia.

“His place kicking has improved markedly and he’s worked hard on it,” Fourie told the Volksblad website.

“He’s found his feet [in Perth] and the confidence he’s currently playing with, makes him a player of international quality. According to me, he’s always had the talent to play international rugby.”

Kick-off for tomorrow’s clash is scheduled for 5.05 pm.
