Eight couples to show hot moves in ‘Superdance SA’

2009-10-19 00:00

THREE KwaZulu-Natal Latin American dancing couples will be hoping to dance their way to glory in e.tv’s reality show, Superdance South Africa.

The couples — Mfundo Khoza and Boniswa Gazu, Minenhle Gazu and Sibahle Mkhize, and Senzo Makhaye and Khetha Cashibe — will be competing against eight other couples from around the country for the chance to win a coveted performance at the World Dance Event and a cash prize of R20 000.

The 11 finalists were chosen after a month-long search with nail-biting auditions in Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town.

During the elimination rounds, all the couples will perform a freestyle and studio dance for the judges — reigning Latin American world champion Michael Wentik, acclaimed world professional champion, coach and adjudicator Tebogo Kgobokoe, and former South African dance champion Kagiso Ntseane — and will be rated according to creativity, technique and presentation.

The pair with the lowest scores will be eliminated.

To see how our local couples do, tune in toSuperdance South Africa on e.tv at 9.30 pm on Wednesday, October 21.
