Entertaining hockey in prospect

2010-05-15 00:00

THE majority of hockey matches this weekend should provide good entertainment.

The second encounter between Hilton and Maritzburg College is unlikely to have more than one or two goals difference in the score. Both played Grey College twice. Hilton lost by a single goal and drew the other. College won by a goal and lost the second by two. This gives an indication of how close it is likely to be.

Michaelhouse host Glenwood and the outcome is uncertain.

Westville need to repeat last week’s efforts against Glenwood to ensure a win against DHS.

St Albans beat Westville and DHS, but lost to Maritzburg College, Michaelhouse and Kearsney. St Charles beat DHS and Michaelhouse and are favourites in Pretoria today.

Clifton have improved following their English tour and could give Kearsney a tough match. After beating Kearsney, Northwood’s biggest danger against Thomas More is complacency.

Fixtures (home side first): Hilton v Maritzburg College; Michaelhouse v Glenwood; Westville v DHS; St Albans v St Charles; Kearsney v Clifton; Northwood v Thomas More.
