Estate homes by local JV scoops top award

2012-11-20 00:00

A SOUTH Coast construction company, headed by a woman builder and her joint venture partner, recently scooped a prestigious award at the KZN Master Builder awards ceremony held at the Sibaya Casino.

Sarah Unsworth from Southern Natal Construction, who is in a joint venture partnership with John Nicholas from Jesjo Business Enterprises, won the MBA Excellence awards in the category “highly commended for a single residence over R3 million”.

The two homes they built, which were recognised in this category, were in Sunrise Bay Estate in Shelly Beach and another in Ekubo Estate near Port Edward.

Unsworth said that minute attention to detail in both homes, modern classic lines, and contractors committed to a high quality of workmanship were some of the contributing factors to winning this award.

She said she and her partner were very proud of winning a KZN award for the South Coast.

“John and I teamed up five years ago and we work really well together.

“He looks after the construction side of the business and I liaise with architects and handle the project management side of it,” said Unsworth.
