‘Failure a pity for Ramphele’

2014-05-09 00:00

IT would be a pity if Agang received too few votes to send its leader, Dr Mamphela Ramphele, to Parliament, said Mari Harris, director of the research company Ipsos.

She said Agang had failed at the start of the race and may not even make it to Parliament. “It would be a pity because she represented an important group of people and I think there is a place for such a party.”

She said the failed marriage between DA and Agang was Agang’s main problem, followed by the fact that Agang was mainly built around Ramphele’s personality.

“The problem is that [Ramphele] is Agang and a party should be bigger than its leader.”
