Fine wares: ‘Witness’ Craft Bazaar opens

2011-11-24 00:00

THE Witness Craft Bazaar that opens today in the Edgars Court at Liberty Midlands Mall is a showcase of beautiful handmade crafts from throughout the province.

The bazaar, now in its 17th year, provides employment for many crafters and offers local buyers the opportunity to purchase top-quality craft at reasonable prices – and the variety is staggering. From beautiful Nguni jackets and waistcoats to beaded dragonflies and woven scarves, handbags and jewellery plus decorations galore, there is something unique about the bazaar.

Several crafters work in craft groups and through charities and some items have travelled by taxi over bumpy roads from remote parts of northern KwaZulu-Natal, taking a somewhat precarious route to what is widely regarded as one of the finest craft shows in the province.

The stock undergoes a strict selection process to ensure that buyers access quality products at reasonable prices, giving them the ideal opportunity to buy affordable gifts for family and friends or themselves.

Make sure you get to the mall and support local craft.

The bazaar opens at 9 am today and continues until 5 pm on Sunday. Call Gail at 082 445 2577 for more information.
