Fire deaths: Toddlers’ stricken mum gets help

2012-01-17 00:00

KWAZULU-NATAL police confirmed yesterday that a Durban woman whose two children died when her Durban flat caught fire with them locked inside last week, will not be charged in connection with the incident.

Police spokesperson Lieutenant-Colonel Vincent Mdunge said Zinhle Ntenza (27), who lost her children Tino Wilor (1) and Oretta Wilor (3) when her flat at West Point Lodge caught fire, will not face charges but will be referred to an institution to receive counselling to be able to deal with her loss.

Mdunge said after investigation, police found that there was no negligence on her part, but the incident was just a misfortune which could happen to anyone.

It was previously reported that last Friday the mother locked her children in her flat while she went out to a store on Victoria Embankment.
