First STIHL event set to draw scores

THE Dube Dirt Challenge is KZN’s last MTB and Trail Running event for the year and takes place on December 16.

MTB races on offer are the 20 km MTB/45 km MTB. There will be a free Kiddies Village and a free Toddler 1,5 km Tour around Dube City. The routes are fast flowing and will consist of jeep track, district roads and sugar cane paths. The 45 km MTB race starts at 7.30 am, with the 20 km race starting at 7.50 am. The STIHL Sharks Trail Adventure is set to attract a large field of participants and supporters in its inaugural year. The event, run and operated in conjunction between The Sharks brand and Impi Sport, is set to take place at Summerveld Estate outside Hillcrest on December 9. There will be a special staging of the Shongweni Farmers’ Market and the attendance of many of your favourite Sharks players,

The second annual Toti Enduro X will be held at Kingsway High School in Amanzimtoti, South of Durban, on December 15 and 16.

The Burry Stander XC Elimination Race will be on December 15. The MTB race will be the first of its kind in South Africa and the track will be designed by Burry Stander, SA’s No. 1 mountain biker. The MTBikers will race around and on the MotorX track, testing their skills over the obstacles.

MULTISPORT

The Durban Mulitsport Series final takes place tomorrow morning on the beautiful Golden Mile. With full road closures in place, this event is safe and exciting to race like no other event in South Africa.

Open to competitors from eight years upwards, this is an event for the whole family. There are four events to compete in on race day: Rookie Triathlon (200 m swim/five kilometre cycle/1,25 km run); Sprint Triathlon (600 m swim/20 km cycle/five kilometre run); Sprint Duathlon (five kilometre run/20 km cycle/2,5 km Run); and the longer Olympic triathlon (1,5 km swim/40 km cycle/10 km run).
