Forum: limited space for housing good governance meeting

2011-01-26 00:00

THE Built Environment Support Group (BESG) is hosting a forum on housing (Human Settlement) and good governance following ongoing discussions with the Msunduzi Municipality on the crisis in the city.

The forum will be held at the Golden Horse conference centre on January 31 and 300 delegates from business, NGOs, community and organisations interested in the development of the city are expected to attend.

The event will be structured in two parts.

The morning session will be a report-back by the city administration on the turn-around strategy, with an open question and answer session.

The administration will place on public record what it has achieved, what still has to be done, and what legacy it is leaving behind to create an accountable and effective administration.

In the afternoon there will be a participatory session on enhancing public accountability within the municipality and finding ways of promoting public engagement in the affairs of the city.

Limited spaces remain.

Interested organisations who may not have received an invitation, are invited to apply for pre-registration by contacting Gail on 082 445 2577.
