Free Aids Day concert at King’s Park

2012-11-27 00:00

KWAZULU-NATAL will host a free World Aids Day Concert on December 1.

The much awaited One Love HIV and Aids Awareness Concert is to turn King’s Park into a fairground as the world unites behind one cause on Saturday.

More than 35 000 people are expected to join South Africa’s top artists.

The line-up includes Brian Themba, Babsy Mlangeni, Ray Phiri, Loyiso Bala, Jamali, Lvovo, DJ Tira, Professor, Teargas, Izingane Zoma and many more.

In light of the ongoing challenge of new HIV infections, ignorance, stigma and discrimination, organisers of the 2012 concert aim to reaffirm the “Knowledge + Action = Getting to Zero” initiative by echoing the sentiments of World Health Organisation.

Free tickets can be collected at Computicket this week.

Not only are the people going to be kept on their feet dancing, but they’ll also receive advice, words of wisdom and encouragement around HIV and Aids matters.

Each person qualifies for only two tickets and they should provide their ID number, name and contact details.

The concert will benefit six non-government organisations from six townships: Inanda, kwaMashu, Lamontville, uMlazi, Chesterville and Durban central.

Five ambassadors will attend representing infected and affected young people.
