Gardens wedding for suave Gigaba

2014-08-29 00:00

ONE of the cabinet’s most suave ministers is set to tie the knot at a lavish garden wedding at the historic Durban Botanic Gardens tomorrow.

Home Affairs Minister Malusi Gigaba, who was born in Eshowe, and his bride-to-be, IT executive Nomachule Mngoma, are set to have their nuptials before a host of South African politicians, socialites and celebrities.

Mngoma’s and her bridesmaids’ dresses were designed by the renowned David Tlale, with designer Gavin Rajah.

The quaint venue was the same backdrop used by ANC spokesperson Zizi Kodwa when he wedded Zama Ngabane in 2011.

While always a charming setting for matrimony in all conditions, the weather gods look set to be on the couple’s side with a partly cloudy day, and very little rain expected.

The day is set to mark a twofold festivity for Gigaba, who is also celebrating his 43rd birthday and the day his relationship with Mngoma was made public in 2011.

The dapper politician separated from his first wife, Thabong Nxumalo, in 2010. Their divorce was finalised earlier this year. The couple have one daughter.
