Gastroenteritis: Clarke released from hospital

2013-04-02 00:00

SYDNEY — Cricket Australia says Australia captain Michael Clarke spent Sunday night in hospital suffering from gastroenteritis.

Clarke, who returned home early from Australia’s Test tour to India with a back injury, was released early yesterday morning.

In a statement, Cricket Australia said the captain “has since been discharged and is recovering at home”.

Clarke is expected to take 10 weeks to recover from his back injury, missing the Indian Premier League, to be ready for the Champions League and mid-year Ashes series in England.
