2010-05-03 00:00

BE inspired by hot local and imported bridal designs, get creative with the latest in bridal make-up, hair and accessories, and discover unforgettable décor and venues.

Liberty Midlands Mall will be transformed by “Decor by Chantell”, with an African wedding theme, at its annual Bridal Show from Wednesday to Sunday.

Don’t miss the fashion show on Saturday at 1 pm in the raised food court, which is produced, choreographed and modelled by Irene’s Model Agency. The compere will be David Ward of Top Jocks, who will also be responsible for the music. Hair and make-up is by Craik Speirs.

Be Berry is to launch an exclusive range of dresses designed and created by its team. Each dress is individually labelled with the names of women of today.

Also on show will be beautiful imported Anella wedding shoes, exclusive garters and exquisite jewellery. (Join their Facebook group after May 10 and enter your dream dance dress. Get your friends to vote, as the winner will have her dream dress sponsored. For more information, SMS your name to 072 455 8600.)

Next up is the Bridal Register incorporating Elre attire designs. Based in Clarendon, owner and award winning designer Renalda Schafer not only designs to suit each individual bride, but uses the best quality fabrics, to bring out the personal touch to all her creations.

Escorting the lovely brides, male models will be dressed by Ghela Outfitters and The Company Man’s. Established in 1911, Ghela has almost 100 years of experience in gents’ clothing. They pride themselves on offering you more value, style and brands to suit the individual.

The Company Man’s, owned by Brett Beckett, is one of the leading privately owned men’s clothing shops in KZN. Personal relationships with the clientele has been built up over 24 years. An elegant and inviting atmosphere complements the exclusive range of select men’s clothing.

The models will then wear dresses from Phindilicious Bridal Boutique. Owner Phindile Grootboom, who is based in Pinetown, not only supplies imported wedding gowns, but also designer gowns suitable for exclusive events. Included in her collection are designer hats, jewellery, bags and tiaras.

Locally based Eternal Designs, run by a mother and daughter, will then be in the spotlight with a design for every season. With a passion for fashion, creativity and an eye for detail, they design couture garments, creating timeless memories.

We then move into a cultural flavour where models will wear glamorous Eastern attire from new tenant Sabah Collection (shop No. 212). From sparkling accessories to designer wear fit for the stars, Sabah Collection has it all and will ensure you get the best in Eastern fashion at affordable prices

Then take an African journey as we showcase a range from Lethiwe Vilakazi. A graduate from the School of Fashion and with numerous awards to her name, Lethiwe believes in respecting her culture and carrying through those African values in her designs.

The show ends with a special innovation from established local designer Brenda Waring in true Show Stopper style. Brenda was named designer of the year two years in a row at the School of Fashion. She specialises in wedding dresses, but also creates men’s suits and other designer wear. For something out of the ordinary, don’t miss this creation.

The fashion extravaganza closes with the prize presentation to the winners of the Mirror’s fantastic Bridal Competition. You still have time to enter.

Prizes are valued at R100 000. To enter, purchase a gift card to the value of R350 or more at the Info desk, fill out an entry form, attach your receipt, and drop into the competition box.
