TONIGHT

• Cape Town-based folk artist Nate Maingard will be performing at Amsterdam, Helen Joseph ­(Davenport) Road, Glenwood, from 8 pm.

• Nibs van der Spuy will be performing live at Blue Stockings (16 Dan Pienaar Road, Kloof) from 7 pm. Entrance is R60. Inquiries: Narene at 031 764 1061 or 083 659 3628.

• The Ryan Calder Band will be taking their show to St Clements Restaurant (191 Musgrave Road). Tickets are R40 and the restaurant will be open.

• The band Too Close is now also playing at Zanzibar Restaurant which is in Westwood Mall (just past 45th Cutting), in Westville, Durban, every Friday evening from 7 pm. Phone 031 266 3850 for more information.

• Barry will be playing party music at Hebron Haven Hotel in Lions River this Friday night. Come and enjoy fine food and experience the magic party vibe. Starts at 7.30 pm. No entrance fee.

TOMORROW

• Enjoy live music with Jammo at Mountain View Country Pub after the Sharks game on the big screen.

• Origin (Clark Road, Glenwood) continues its legendary Saturday night with the best dance music from the international scene with Durban’s leading deejays, including Spindocta and the Midnight Jackers. Doors open at 9 pm and entrance is R60.

 

SUNDAY

• Shadows 12th birthday celebration (hosted at A512 Kwadabeka, Clermont) from 6 pm, features guest comedian Mpukane (aka Flymotion as PD) and live performances by the Crochet (featuring Nhlanhla Sibisi), Zanele Nduli and Eazy T. DJs Sox, Bongz, TP (99.5), Dura, Pius, Dulaz, Sekza, Bax, Cpho, Dak Beauty, Spykos and Bule.

• The Maritzburg Musicians’ Club hosts Abbo Hall and St John next week Tuesday at the Red Door. Entrance is R30 and music starts at 8 pm.

• Live music has come back to El Sombrero Spur at Nedbank Mall, Scottsville. Internationally experienced singer-guitarist Jammo will be performing from 6 pm onwards.

 

WEDNESDAY

• June 17. Jaspar Lepak will be performing with Rachel VanScoy (harmonies), Kale Lepak (accordion), Bryan Eaton (banjo), Richard Haslop (mandolin and dobro) at Blue Stockings, Kloof. Music starts at 7 pm. Bookings: Narene at 083 659 3628. Entrance is R60 at the door.

• June 18. Rock sensation Evolver One and opening act Thirty Three will be playing up a storm at Durban’s favourite seaside party venue. Tickets are available at Computicket at just R60. Inquiries: uShaka Marine World at 031 328 8000.
