TONIGHT

• Liberty Midlands Mall presents Milho Khorhaya, the Bolivian-born musician who composes most of his own South American-based music (guitar, panpipes, percussion and flute). He will be performing at the mall from 6 pm until 8 pm in the garden food court.

• The Jackie Horner Pub and Grill in Helen Joseph (Davenport) Road, Glenwood, hosts Ross Tapson from 9 pm to midnight. Free. Phone 031 202 9192 to book.

• Jammo will be beating out the rock classics and favourites at the Red Tap in Howick from 7.30 pm onwards.

• DJ Alan McCabe (Bundy) at the Kick n Whistle at Woodburn Rugby Stadium. Food and drink specials will be available. Secure parking. For more information, phone 033 342 3528.

• The Last Musketeer will be performing at Collegians from 7 pm. Good food and music on offer. Inquiries: 082 761 5249.

 

TOMORROW

• The first annual Pig & Beer Fest takes place at Pecanwood (15 km from Pietermaritzburg, just before Howick). There will be plenty of beer, spit roasts, bands, bonfires and camping available. For R50 a ticket, patrons will gain entrance, which includes all food (pig roast, rolls, salads, etc) as well as camping. The performances will be by Red Light Stereo, Catlike Thieves and Cairly Matthews. DJ Spud will take the party further into the night. Tickets from Computicket or at Pecanwood directly. Inquires: 074 821 1144 or 083 915 8000 (bookings essential for catering). Gates open at 1 pm. Food served from 6.30 pm. Drink specials all night.

• Eighties music will be showcased with the Hairy Legged Lentil Eaters and the Splayed Ferrets­ in a marquee on the field next to The Butchery (102 Roberts Road). • Durban rock-electronic band Rise launch their new album Water on My Face at The Origin in Clark Road.

• All day fun and entertainment at Mountain View country pub with music from Jammo and friends, plenty of activities for the whole family. Full bar and catering and braai facilities.

• Nottingham Road Hotel hosts live music by The Last Musketeer. A children’s jumping castle will be on offer at the Notties every Sunday at noon. Inquiries: 033 266 6151.

 

TUESDAY

• The Maritzburg Musicians’ Club hosts Steve Fataar. Supporting him will be Abbo Hall. R20 entrance. The evening starts at 8 pm.

 

WEDNESDAY

• Jammo is back at the Nevada Spur at Cascades with four hours of feelgood music, starting at 5.30 pm.

• At Bierfassl, Nottingham Road, the Last Musketeer­ will provide the music while you enjoy the good food on offer. Beer and burger special tonight, R11.95. Inquiries: 033 266 6320.

• The Kick ’n’ Whistle hosts karaoke tonight with Jen and Gary. Inquiries: 033 342 3528.

 

THURSDAY

• May 21: Isochronus and The Ranks will be performing at the Red Door. Starts at 9 pm. Tickets R40.
