TONIGHT

• The House Party takes place at Forestgate (15 Theed Street, Howick, diagonally opposite Howick Prep School), featuring DJ Lyka, DJ Slayte, DJ Max It and Dane O Mac from 7 pm. Entry fee: R25. Bring your own drinks — over 18 only. Inquiries or to book this venue: 033 330 6191 or 083 651 5707.

• The Olive Tree hosts Jammo for sundowners from 4.30 pm by the deck bar, weather permitting.

• Southern Comfort Mardi Gras takes place at 54 (50 Old Main Road, Pinetown) from 9 pm. The DJ line-up: DJ Dean Fuel and George Sax.

 

TOMORROW

• Pietermaritzburg singer Mario Ogle, whose track Can’t Stop Loving You reached number one on East Coast Radio’s Top 20 earlier this year, has just released his ­debut album. He will be doing a CD signing at Musica (Liberty Midlands Mall) at 11 am, and performing at the dinner/dance at St Luke’s Anglican Church, Woodlands.

• Gerhard Britz performs at the Kick ’n Whistle (behind Woodburn Stadium). There is a three-course meal at R60 a head, with a children’s meal at a discount price. Entrance is free. Booking for lunch is advised: 076 074 4726.

• Mountain View Country Pub hosts live music with Jammo after the Sharks match on the big screen. Dance to the greatest and the latest rock and party tunes. Full bar and catering.

• Pegasus in Ashburton hosts Johnny MacGregor, who plays over lunch, starting at noon, to celebrate Phyllis’s 80th birthday. Inquiries: 083 532 4415.

• Southern Comfort Mardi Gras takes place at 80’s (Walter Gilbert Road, King’s Park, Durban) from 9 pm. The DJ line-up: DJ Dean Fuel and George Sax.

 

SUNDAY

• Brett Cox and Roly Struckmeyer perform every Sunday afternoon at the Stagecoach. Inquiries: 072 654 6224.

• Mike from Marshall Music plays laid-back piano and keyboard favourites from 5.30 pm at the Nevada Spur at Cascades.

• Jammo performs at the Olive Tree from lunch time onwards with a laid-back selection over lunch, getting more lively later on.

 

TUESDAY

• The Olive Tree coffee shop hosts karaoke on Tuesday nights with Clareoke Connections. Karaoke starts at 7 pm until late. Bar open from 4 pm.

 

WEDNESDAY

• At the Stagecoach every Wednesday is open mic night with Brett Cox. Inquiries: 072 654 6224.

• Jammo continues his popular Wednesday night slot at the Nevada Spur at Cascades with a wide range of feel-good numbers from 5.30 pm to 9.30 pm.

• The Kick ’n Whistle hosts karaoke tonight with Jen and Gary. Inquiries: 033 342 3528.

 

THURSDAY

• Phuza Thursdays at Foxy’s with a DJ, dance floor and a chill lounge. R8 for a draught and R5 for a spirit and mixer. Phone the Fern  Hill Hotel at 033 330 5071.

• Jen and Gary host karaoke from

7.30 pm at Lizards Rock.
