TONIGHT

• Johnny Zest and Friends play at Aintree Lodge’s over-30s; dance from 7 pm to midnight. Inquiries: 033 386 7956.

• The Musketeers (Jan and John) perform at Collegians from 8 pm. Good food and music on offer. Inquiries: 082 761 5249.

• The Olive Tree hosts Jammo for sundowners from 4.30 pm by the deck bar.

 

TOMORROW

• The Splayed Ferrets will be performing at the Red Door from 8 pm. R20 entrance.

• Crossways masked ball, R200 per person. Phone 033 342 2267 to book.

• Mountain View Country Pub hosts live music with Jammo after the Sharks match on the big screen. Dance to all the greatest and the latest rock and party tunes. Full bar and catering.

• The Kick ’n Whistle behind the Woodburn Stadium hosts a ladies’ night with a difference, featuring topless waiters and DJ Doug. Free entrance. Men welcome after 11 pm. Booking is essential, at 082 417 0893 or 033 342 3528.

 

SUNDAY

• Johnny Zest and Friends perform over lunch time at the Lion Park Lodge, playing favourite songs from the past decades. Inquiries: 031 785 1104.

• Busi Mhlongo in concert at the Rainbow Restaurant. Doors open at noon, first act at 1 pm. Tickets are R100 pre-sale or R140 at the door.

• Gerhard Britz performs at the Kick ’n Whistle (behind Woodburn Stadium). A three-course meal costs R60. (Discount for children’s meal). Entrance is free. Booking for lunch is advised at 076 074 4726.

• Johnny McGregor and the Three Must Have Beers perform at the Cato Pub from 1 pm until 5 pm. A three-course meal will be served. Inquiries: Linda at 082 457 9651.

• Brett Cox and Roly Struckmeyer perform every Sunday afternoon at the Stagecoach. Inquiries: 072 654 6224.

• Mike from Marshall Music plays laid-back piano and keyboard favourites from 5.30 pm at the Nevada Spur at Cascades.

• Jammo performs at the Olive Tree from lunch time onwards with a laid-back selection over lunch which will get more lively ­later on.

TUESDAY

• The Olive Tree coffee shop hosts karaoke on Tuesday nights with Clareoke Connections. Karaoke starts at 7 pm until late. Bar open from 4 pm.

 

WEDNESDAY

• At the Stagecoach every Wednesday is open mic night with Brett Cox. Inquiries: 072 654 6224.

• Jammo is at the Nevada Spur at ­Cascades with a wide range of feel-good numbers from 5.30 pm to 9.30 pm.

• The Kick ’n Whistle hosts karaoke tonight with Jen and Gary. Inquiries: 033 342 3528.

 

THURSDAY

• Jen and Gary host karaoke from 7.30 pm at Lizards’ Rock.

 

COMING UP

• October 10. MpowerFM, Emnotweni ­Casino and the Ridge Casino present the Garth Taylor Band live in concert. Launching their new 2009 album, Stripped Down, Soul’d Out as well as a mix of your favourite Garth Taylor hits such as Why and Everyday. Tickets are R60 per person. Doors open at 7 pm. The concert starts at 8 pm.

• October 31. The Darren Bode Benefit Festival at Forgotten Falls, Howick — a whole day affair to raise funds to pay expenses for Darren who was seriously injured in a motor vehicle accident recently. The line-up is Open Mic (9 am), Four Leaf (noon), Band Of Brothers (1 pm), The Wykeham Girls Rock School (2 pm), Derrick Zuma and Friends (3 pm), Pan Latino (4 pm), The Hairy Legged Lentil Eaters (5 pm), Splayed Ferrets (6 pm), Gloucester Blues Project (7 pm), Tuff Gong (8 pm), Tracing Sunday (9 pm).
