TONIGHT

• Rockafella’s Dance Club is open for karaoke with Gary and Jen until 10 pm, with DJ Kamil thereafter. Inquiries: 033 342 9522/21.

• Live music with Trevor at Calsey’s from 7 pm. Festive atmosphere. Kitchen open until 9 pm.

• Karaoke at Stagecoach (just down the road from Scottsville Mall) with Delwyn every Friday from 7 pm until 10 pm.

• The Jackie Horner Pub and Grill at 47 Helen Joseph (Davenport) Road, Glenwood, hosts Collin Rule. Entrance is free. Call 031 202 9192 to book a table.

TOMORROW

• The Bruce Baker Quartet, consisting of Burton Naidoo (piano), Natalie Rungan (vocals), Bruce Baker (drums) and Dane Francis (guitar), will be performing jazz standards and a few of Natalie’s own hits. The concert takes place in lecture room DSLT on PMB UKZN’s main campus at 7 pm. Tickets are R25 for students and scholars and R50 for others. SUNDAY

• Mountain View country pub and entertainment centre presents Easter Sunday fun and entertainment for the whole family, including an Easter-egg hunt for the kids, competitions, and live music throughout the day with Jammo and friends.

• Westmore Park Club hosts karaoke with Mervin and Brenda every Sunday from 3 pm. Children are welcome. Inquiries: 079 525 9649.

MONDAY

• Catch live music throughout the day with Jammo at Mountain View country pub. A perfect way to wind down the long weekend. The Easter music festivals don’t have to end on Sunday.

 

WEDNESDAY

• Jan, the Last Musketeer, is back at Bierfassl where there’s good music and good food from 6 pm. Bookings: 033 266 6320.

• Calseys hosts karaoke with Gary and Jen. There will be drinks specials and the kitchen stays open until 9 pm. Inquiries: 033 342 3528.

 

THURSDAY

• A laid-back picnic and acoustic folk-music festival, titled Sanctuary of Love Freedom Day Folk Music Festival of Life, love, light ‘n Laughter, from 10 am to 5 pm. Entrance is R30 per person, children free. Secure parking, stalls and catering. Take your own picnic if you wish. Please take your second-hand clothing, blankets etc. for the Red Cross (who will also be in attendance on the day) to distribute to south coast charities. The line up includes Rob and Garth Warren, the Hinds Brothers, David Marks, Screaming Doc Hansen & Nedia, Brain Thomas and others. Directions to venue: Melville Beach, 69 Beach Road. 100 km from Durban N2 south, R102 turn-off 10 km from Hibberdene to Melville Station Road turn-off, 5 km from Hibberdene to Highcroft, R102 Pumula (right). • Every Thursday is ladies night at Rockafellas. From 6 pm there’s line dancing in the dance club area with Ben from Ben’s Dance Studio — for women only. Inquiries: 033 342 9522/21.

COMING UP

• April 29. The Jackie Horner pub and restaurant hosts singer-songwriter-guitarist Fiona Tozer at 7.30 pm. After her collaborations with various local musicians, Tozer returns to her roots in a solo performance. The Jackie Horner pub is situated at 47 Davenport Road, Glenwood, Durban.
