TONIGHT

• At the Red Door is DJ Jamie, for the best in rock, metal, punk, indie and alternative music. Contact 082 975 4473.

• The Red Tap in Howick features musician Jammo from 7.30 pm.

• DJ Alan McCabe (Bundy) at the Kick ’n Whistle at Woodburn Rugby Stadium. Secure parking. Food will be available and drinks specials. Inquiries: 033 342 3528.

• Shadows Kasi Tour features Soccer Friday at Havana Music Café (Durban city centre next to tourist junction, Pine Street) from 5 pm until late — various artists and DJs.

TOMORROW

• At the Red Door is From the Dark metal fest. There are 12 bands starting at 2 pm. Tickets are R50. Inquiries: 082 975 4473.

• Couples Night Out with Afro-soul/jazz legend Joe Nina at the Max Institute of Fashion Art (Gateway Mall, Durban). Dress code: glamorous. Tickets at Computicket and Shoprite stores at R180 per couple. Inquiries: 072 132 4321 or 073 732 5636.

• Africa Bike Week in Margate starts today until 26 April, featuring a range of musical talent including Ghapi, Clint & Co, Dilana, Veraz & Dilinger, Jason Hartman, Nelda, Staaldraad, Black Era, Chix with Stix and the Silver Creek Mountain Band.

• Mountain View country pub presents music by Jammo before the Sharks game on the big screen and again afterwards.

• Karaoke with Jen and Gary at Firkin every Thursday from 7.30 pm.

 

SUNDAY

• The Splayed Ferrets and Four Leaf perform at Swissland Cheese on the Midlands Meander. Tickets: R50, under 12s get in free. Boerewors rolls and Notties beer will be available, and the cheese shop will be open. Take a picnic and enjoy good music in peaceful surroundings. • Sundazed hosts DJ Funky G (from Durban) back with his deep, funky house and hip-hop tracks, along with Trixy T and DJs Biggy, Choppers (MC), Staxx and Midnight Jackers — Matt Sublime and d.j.t. There will be promotions, giveaways, fire dancers, drink specials and loads of entertainment, — at The Ferret this Sunday. Entrance is R30, Dress code: Stylin’. No under 18s.

• Pegasus hosts Johnny McGregor and the Three Must Have Beers, who perform from 2 pm. Book for lunch: 083 532 4415.

• Family entertainment all day at Mountain View with music by Jammo, as well as fun family games and activities. Also braai facilities, swimming pools and the world’s biggest burgers.

• The Jackie Horner Pub and Grill in ­Glenwood hosts acoustic guitarist Rene Tshiakanyi performing his own distinctive sound of classic pop/reggae/soul from 1 pm to 3 pm. Entrance is free. Phone 031 202 9192 to book.

TUESDAY

• End your long weekend with a relaxed family vibe and live music with Jammo at the El Sombrero Spur at the Scottsville Mall from 5.30 pm onwards.
