TONIGHT

• Guy Buttery and Nibs van der Spuy will present an evening of fine acoustic guitar, showcasing their brand new duo show after a five-year break due to their rigorous individual touring schedules. Tickets are R100 (R50 for Alliance Française members). Booking is recommended: 031 312 9582.

• Origin in Clark Road, Glenwood, hosts international band Napalma on Friday June 24. Supported by local bands Spitmunky and Liver (CT) with DJs Veranda Panda and Nightvision. Doors open 9pm. Entrance R60.

• Durban rock electronic band Rise perform at Mojos at the Riverside Hotel in Durban North on Friday June 24 from 8pm to 9pm. Entrance is free, but booking is essential if you want a table. • Maritzburg Golf Club welcomes Jammo back for an evening of live music in the bar/restaurant tonight.

TOMORROW

• Origin in Clark Road, Glenwood, hosts deejay Royal K (Jhb) who is joined by local spin doctors Mimi Kesaris, Digital Kaos, DJ Amigo, Garuni, Funky G and Chef. Doors open at 9pm. Entrance is R80.

SUNDAY

• Rainbow Restaurant (Pinetown) features Just Friends featuring Khaya Dlamini. Good old township jive. Tickets R30 presale and R50 at the door.

• African Drumshack, Durbans own community drumming center, hosts two bands: world music outfit, Maisha and percussion/electronic wizards Napalma who will showcase their talents and diverse spectrum of imaginative arrangements. • Jazz outfit Beat-Route will be performing at the annual House & Garden Show from 1 to 4pm.

• All-day fun and activities for the whole family at Mountain View country pub and entertainment centre, including live music through the day with Jammo and friends. The venue is situated less than 10 km from the city centre and can be reached by driving right through Lincoln Mede and just a couple of kilometres beyond, or through Eastwood.

TUESDAY

• Jaspar Lepak and The Bandits are sure to get toes a-tapping at the next Maritzburg Musicians' Club, hosted at the Red Door. Tickets are R30. 8pm.

• El Sombrero Spur at the Scottsville Mall invites you to enjoy fun feelgood live music every Tuesday night with Jammo from 6pm onwards.

WEDNESDAY

• Bellagios (Morningside) hosts Black Coffee, Oskido, Christos, Vinny and The Maestro as part of the SAMC. Entrance is R100. Phone 082 330 7872 for more information.

• July 1. Newtown Knife Gang, Johannesburg’s hottest new rock force, will be performing at the Red Door on July 1.

• July 1. Getting My Act Together - a one-man musical revue show featuring Anthony Stonier, looking back over the past 10 years at some of the many shows he has appeared in at the Rhumbelow Theatre. 8pm.

• July 1-2. Club 808 and DJ Tira will be the main Durban July after-party at Moses Mabhida stadium, featuring artists such as Liquideep, Teargas, Dj Cleo, Zakes Bantwini and Fisherman. For more info, visit the Club 808 Facebook page.

• July 1. Beat-Route will be performing as part of the The Eshowe Jazz Fest from 6.30pm.

• July 3. An Afternoon with Classical Pianist Andrew Warburton at the  Rhumbelow Theatre. 2pm.

• July 3. Beat-Route will be performing at the annual House & Garden Show from 12pm to 3pm. Lots of great specials - and some swing jazz, some bossa nova, some groove.

• July 9. Beat-Route will be performing at the Ballito Prawn and Jazz Fest and Jus' Jazzin programme from 11am.

• July 23. Ashtray Electric will stop in Durban at Unit 11 (191 Matthews Meyiwa) as part of the band's national tour to promote their new album. Support act is La Els.

• July 24: Sharon Katz and the Peace Train - the venue does not normally do gigs before pay day but Katz has a bunch of visitors from the US who depart South Africa after this concert so it was agreed to give them a footstomping Rainbow "bon voyage".
