TONIGHT

• House party experience at Madlula’s place featuring DJs Sox, Deep, Sduz, Honest and Masiya. Admission R50 (women free before 9 pm).

• Saxophonist Iye Echa and friends will be playing jazz at the City Royal Hotel located in Burger Street. The theme of the performance for this month is Celebrating the Music of Abdullah Ibarahim, from 6 pm to 10 pm. Admission free and dress code smart. Inquiries: 084 278 8024.

TOMORROW

• Playing for a Reason takes place at the Winston Pub, featuring Mean Louise, Knight Blind, Sword of War, Vengeance Resides, Bad Murphy, South of a Sun, Paige of State, The Hollow, A.T.C, Hate Speech, Beyond the Pale and Cynical Origin. In aid of orphaned animals at the SPCA,. Doors open at 2 pm. Entrance is R25 with an item of dog or cat food, R40 without, or if you bring a bag of dog food, entrance is free.

SUNDAY

• R ’n B artist Loyiso and the Pixie Bennet Band will be performing at the Old Mutual Music at the Lake concert series — held at the Botanical Gardens in Durban. • Jazz at Suncoast hosts a free concert, featuring the Neil Gonsalves Quartet, with Salem Washington.

• Jammo continues his popular Wednesday night slot at the Nevada Spur at Cascades, with a wide range of feel-good numbers from 5.30pm to 9.30 pm.

THURSDAY

• Until June 6 is Lipstick and Lovesongs — The Divas Show, featuring songs made famous by women such as Down Town, Leader of the Pack, I Say a Little Prayer, It’s My Party, Big Spender and other famous hits.
