TONIGHT

• The Red Tap in Howick features music with Jammo from 7.30 pm onwards. Expect plenty of up-tempo foot-stompers.

TUESDAY • The Maritzburg Musicians’ Club hosts Pan Latino at the Red Door, performing their eclectic mix of Latin and African music, as well as classical guitarist Peter Tennant. The evening starts at 8 pm and the entrance is R20.

 

WEDNESDAY • Jammo continues his popular Wednesday- night slot at the Nevada Spur at Cascades, starting at 5.30 pm.

• At Bierfassel, Nottingham Road, the Last Musketeer will provide the music while you enjoy the good food on offer. Beer and burger special tonight, R11,95. Inquiries: 033 266 6320.

• May 8: The Ranks will be performing at the Scout Hall (PMB) along with Truth Revealed, Thomas Crane, Superlative, Smithsmall? Ariseband and Scarlett Hill.

• May 9: Jazz Revisited perform on Mother’s Day at the Strelitzia Room Restaurant at the Botanical Gardens. Booking for lunch is essential — cost is R120 — and enjoy the mellow sounds of Hugo Misselhorn (piano), Jeremy Grimsdell (drums) and Mike Hemmings (bass). Phone 033 344 2207.

• May 15: The first annual Pig & Beer Fest is at Pecanwood (15 kilometres from PMB just before Howick). There will be beer, spit roasts, live bands, bonfires and camping available.
