TONIGHT

• Metal band Killing Iris will be on stage at the Red Door, starting at 9.30 pm. Doors open at 7 pm, entrance is R10 before 9 pm and R30 after 9 pm. Strictly no under 18’s allowed. For further information phone Jamie at 082 975 4473.

• The Last Musketeer is performing at Collegians Club. Entrance is free.

• Karaoke at Stagecoach (just down the road from Scottsville Mall) with Delwyn every Friday from 7 pm until 10 pm.

• Rockafellas hosts karaoke with Gary and Jen, from 6 pm to 10 pm.

• The Jackie Horner Pub and Grill at 47 Helen Joseph (Davenport) Road, Glenwood, hosts Band 33 tonight from 8 pm to midnight. Entrance is free. Phone 031 202 9192 for more infor-

TOMORROW

SUNDAY

• Jammo will be at Mountain View again this Sunday with a whole day’s worth of live music. Full bar and catering, braai facilities and a range of family-oriented activities will be available.

• The Jackie Horner Pub and Grill at 47 Helen Joseph (Davenport) Road, Glenwood, hosts Murphy, who plays a mix of contemporary sounds. The stylish pub also offers a great Sunday roast special for R49. Entrance is free. Call 031 202 9192 to book a table.

TUESDAY

• The Hinds Brothers are back to perform at the MMC hosted at the Red Door, supported by the Good Tragedy. A limited number of Splashy tickets are available exclusively at the MMC for R400 each. The evening starts at the Red Door at 8 pm. Entry is R30.

 

WEDNESDAY

• Wednesday Madness at The Red Door with DJ Fidget, starting at 8 pm — your midweek party with alternative tunes, commercial tunes and even some dubstep. Great drinks specials for cash-strapped students Entrance is only R15 and strictly no under 18s. For further information, phone Tosch at 071 444 2111.

• Calseys hosts Karaoke with Gary and Jen. There will be drinks specials and the kitchen is open until 9 pm. For more information phone

THURSDAY

COMING UP

• April 21. Splashy Fen, South Africa’s longest-running music festival, takes place over the Easter weekend. Tickets are now on sale at Computicket and Game stores for R500.

• March 7. The UKZN’s School of Music lunch-hour concert presents “Talking Drums: African drumming meets Western drumming”. Led by Lebogang Sejamoholo, this group of music students creates a vibrant fusion of drumming techniques from different parts of the world. Their unique approach emphasizes innovation and creativity, with the objective of creating a new sound, and each piece of music is shaped to reflect the mood of the group. The concert takes place at Howard College Theatre, UKZN on May 7 at 12:15 pm. Entrance is free. Phone 031 260 2252 for details.
