TONIGHT

• Durban singer-songwriting brothers Aden and Wren Hinds will be performing at Rock Bottom Pub and Grill tonight at Lot 60, Station Road, Umzumbe. They will be performing tonight at 7 pm, and entry is R40 per person. For more information and to book, phone Hayley at 078 444 7130.

 

MONDAY

• MTN Durban Jazz Festival at Hazelmere Dam, featuring top-acts Zakes Bantwini and Teargas, among ­others. It starts at 10 am, and secure parking will be available. Patrons are encouraged to take ­camping chairs, tents or umbrellas, braais and cooler boxes. Tickets cost R200 (general), R250 (golden circle) — no umbrellas, tent or braais in this area. Tickets can be bought at ­Computicket and Shoprite or Checkers outlets.

• The Hairy Legged Lentil Eaters will be ­performing at Swissland Cheese, a popular Midlands Meander venue on the R103, between Lidgetton and ­Bal­gowan. The show starts at 12.30 pm, and the entrance fee is R50 per person (free for those under 12). Take your own picnic.

• aKing, Gangs of Ballet, Habit To and Scarlet Hill will be performing at Unit 11 in Durban at 8 pm. Tickets are R60.

 

WEDNESDAY

• DJ Cleo will be performing at the Lacoste Lounge in Ntombela Road, KwaMashu (near Durban).

THURSDAY

• DJ Black Coffee will be performing in Durban at Eyadini (Umlazi). For more information, phone 082 932 2526.

• December 31: New Years party at the Village Centre in Ballito. 5FM DJ line-up includes Fresh, Euphonik, Roger Goode, Gareth Cliff, C-Live, Poppy and Rob Vember, GoodLuck, Niskerone, Gareth Devore, the Spindoctor, G Funk, Yaron, Justin ­Miller, Harel Salkow and many more.

• December 31: The fourth annual Midmar Music Festival, featuring Theo Kgosinkwe, Zonke and Mzansi’s Zahara, among others.

• December 31: De’Monique and Fat Boy Scoop will be performing at the Wavehouse in Umhlanga. Tickets can be bought at Computicket.

• December 31: Rock the River — the New Year’s party, featuring acts such as Fokofpolisiekar, Hog Hoggidy Hog, Reburn, Half Price, Peachy Keen, Stonecollar, The Modes, Junkyard Lipstick and CY.STR, among others. Tickets are available at the gate, Computicket, from participating bands, Shoprite, House & Home, Checkers, Checkers ­Hyper and www.rocktheriversa.co.za.

• February 3 to February 5: Up the Creek Music Festival’s line-up includes: aKing, Akkedis, Black Cat Bones, Blues Broers, Cameron Bruce, City Bowl Mizers, Fox Comet, Great Apes, Holiday ­Murray, Hot Water, Karen Zoid, Louwtjie Rothman, Machiniri, No One’s Arc, Piet Botha, Taxi Violence, Wreshrelish, Jeremy Loops, Luna Paige, ­Shadowclub, Sterling EQ, Andra, Peachy Keen, AC/DC Tribute and Southern Gypsey Queen. The festival will host the main stage, the MK river stage and the all-night-long BOS Breede River bar stage once again. • February 25: Rewind 80s Music Festival comes to Durban, featuring ABC, Midge Ure (Ultravox), Marc Almond, Howard Jones, Go West, Village People.

• March 7: Usher to headline the Hansa Festival of Legends Tour at the ICC Durban Arena. Tickets are from R250 to R450, and can be bought by phoning 086 1915 8000 or e-mailing www.­computicket.com

• April 5 to April 9: Splashy Fen takes place over the Easter weekend, and early-bird tickets are on sale for just R375, limited to the first tickets sold. The early-bird promotion also applies to ­tickets for children aged four to 11, which will cost R100. Children under four get in free.
