Glenwood lads hold hosts Northwood to a 1-1 draw

2013-08-20 00:00

NORTHWOOD hosted Glenwood on the soccer pitch on Saturday and the sides were locked at 1-1 at final whistle.

“It was a very physical encounter for a soccer match with both sides hitting each other hard with tough, crunching tackles,” said Northwood coach Jeremy Parsons.

The hosts opened the scoring when Steven McManus was afforded a gentle tap in after some confusion in Glenwood’s defence.

Northwood let matters slip on the stroke of half time when a lapse in concentration allowed Glenwood to find the net and level the score.

Although both sides looked for the winner in the second half, poor finishing in front of goal saw many an opportunity squandered.
