Golfers: Powerplay challenge

2009-12-04 00:00

MARITZBURG’S golfers can cheer themselves up this afternoon by taking part in the Powerplay Long Drive and Short Game Challenge at the Golden Horse Driving Range.

Despite the grim weather, the host of activities are sure to brighten up the day and there is something for everyone.

The action tees off at 1 pm, and there will be sections for juniors, men, and ladies.

For those happy hackers who fancy hitting it a long way, it will cost R20 to hit three balls and R30 for five hits.

There will also be a putting challenge for the deadly potters (R20pp), while a chipping contest will sort out those who think they have a handy short game (R20pp).

There will be a whole host of prizes, including a stay at the fantastic Gowrie Farm Golf Estate in Nottingham Road.

Food and music will add to the atmosphere, and there will also be demonstrations.

Instead of sulking about the miserable weather denying you the chance to hit the fairways, pop in at the Golden Horse Driving Range for some fun.
