Great prizes in museum competition

2010-02-02 00:00

TEACHERS and principals of Pietermaritzburg schools yesterday attended the launch of the Witness Museum Passport Competition for 2010, held at Comrades House. Primary and high school pupils are invited to enjoy a museum experience at each of the seven participating museums.

The Witness has produced brandnew, colourful passports and posters for this year’s competition, which are being distributed to schools that would like to participate. Each pupil in a school group will have his or her passport stamped at the museum. Once they have collected all seven stamps, they will be eligible to win laptops, copies of the DVD A Night at the Museum, Apple iPods, MP3 players, stationery and a magnificent Nashua photocopier for their school.

Entering the competition is free, but museums charge varying entry fees. These charges are shown on the passports next to the relevant museum. Entries to the competition close in April. Schools wishing to participate should call Ntokozo Mthethwa of The Old Prison at 033 845 0400 to register for their supply of passports.
