Griffons want revenge

THE undefeated KZN women’s rugby team will take on the Griffons today in a match at Woodburn Rugby Stadium. Kickoff is at 3 pm.

The Griffons will be seeking revenge after going down 31-10 to KZN at Welkom in their last encounter. The KZN team will be missing their regular fullback, Lusanda Mtiya, who has been selected to play for the national team in the Nations Cup in the U.S.

The last time these two teams played, the KZN team beat the Lions 81-3, scoring 15 tries in the process and the Griffons lost 51-10 to Free State.

There are three Springbok players in the home side. The team will be led by Springbok and captain Dolly Mavumengwana, while interim coach Donald Ngwenya has taken the reigns while coach Lungisa Kama is away with the national U20 side in England.
