Grisly find: Body on railway tracks

THE badly mutilated body of an unknown man aged about 30 was found lying on the railway tracks at the corner of C.B. Downes and Murray roads yesterday, police said.

“It is believed that he was crossing the tracks [yesterday] at about 2.50 am when he was hit by the train and was fatally [injured].

“A passer-by who found the body alerted the police,” police spokeswoman Inspector Joey Jeevan said in a statement.

Police are appealing to anyone with information about the incident or the identity of the deceased tocall Detective Inspector Nzaca at 076 525 4947 or 033 845 7724, or Crime Stop on the toll-free number 08600 10111.
