Hard rock band hits Live

2013-10-04 00:00

THE Narrow will be performing at Live — The Venue, 166 Stamford Hill Road, Durban, at 8 pm on Saturday, October 5.

This critically acclaimed hard rock band, which has been nominated for South African Music Awards for best rock album for all three of their full length albums, was formed in 2002.

The idea was spawned by Emile (guitars), Jow (bass guitar), Sid (guitars) and Lias (drummer). Lacking a vocalist at this stage it made sense to bring in Hanu, who had been lead vocalist for South African rock band Not My Dog.

Since forming The Narrow, the band very quickly developed their own sound and identity whilst retaining elements of their roots.

Speaking to The Witness, Hanu said: “We are currently touring with our good friends Decortica from New Zealand. As far as we know they are the very first Kiwi band to tour SA... ever! Strange, but true.

“The Narrow has just launched a brand new single called “where’s the fire” and will be releasing a song every few months online. All adding up to a more interactive experience for the fans and we’ll stick the songs on an album when we think we’ve done enough songs.

“We can’t wait to play Durban again! We have some huge fans and good friends in Durbs and Live is probably the best venue in the country.”

Doors open at 8 pm. Tickets are R50. No under 18s.
