‘Heat’: 8 KZn finalists in ManWatch

2012-06-16 00:00

EIGHT KwaZulu-Natal men are finalists in this year’s heat ManWatch competition.

In previous years, Gauteng had Jaco de Bruyn and Christo du Plessis walk away with top honours, but KZN’s Daniel Wessels was last year’s winner.

The competition, running for four years now, is looking for South Africa’s hottest man.

Editor of heat Andre Neveling said: “[The competition] has come a long way since its launch four years ago. We’re very excited about the calibre of contestants this year and look forward to crowning the heat ManWatch winner in a few weeks time.”

Thirty-six finalists were selected for this year’s competition.

Nic Billington, a singer and a songwriter from KZN, said: “I only realised that I was a finalist in the competition a few days ago.

“It’s really exciting and unexpected. It’s such an amazing title to have under your belt, so it’s such an honour to just be a finalist in the competition,” he said.

The winner will walk away with a cash prize of R10 000 and a walk-on part in popular SABC 2 Afrikaans soapie, 7de Laan, and the chance to audition for a full time role, and starring role in a shoot in heat magazine.
