Honey vocals for blues lovers

2008-02-01 00:00

NOT Too Late is the kind of album you listen to on a lazy Sunday afternoon, wine glass in hand, or perhaps curled up on the sofa on a grey and rainy afternoon. It’s real soul music — sensual, plaintive and bluesy.

Not Too Late is American singer-songwriter Norah Jones’s third album and follows her hugely successful debut, Come Away With Me, and the follow-up Feels Like Home.

It debuted at number one in music charts around the world and has helped its creator to become one of the most successful artists of the decade.

Jones wrote or co-wrote every song on the album and in essence it is darker than her previous two offerings.

I especially liked Until The End and Not Too Late, both of which offer thought-provoking lyrics.

But for fans who want a taste of the more familiar, the album also offers the soulful Thinking About You and the countryish Wake Me Up — both of which are super tracks.

So, if you enjoy a bit of blues, you should add this to your record collection. I guarantee that Jones’s honey-laced vocals will keep you entranced.
