Hot 100: Public get to choose the real stars

2011-08-31 00:00

CELEBRITY news magazine heat has launched its eighth annual heat Hot 100, dubbed the ultimate celebrity popularity test in which the public are invited to vote for their celebrity hotties.

Melinda Shaw, editor in chief, said the voting has just opened so the field is wide open. She predicts that Ian Somerhalder and Alex Sarsgaard and the the stars of the various vampire series currently on TV may do well.

She said the question everyone is asking is whether Locnville will be able to repeat their 2010 win?

Or will an international celebrity like Johnny Depp (2006) or Brad Pitt (2005) stand out to win the prestigious title?

“Maybe it will be won by a local hero like Oscar Pistorius. This year he’s shown himself to be a really hot international model as well as a star athlete, so he certainly ticks all the boxes,” said Shaw, adding that the “Blade Runner” athlete “dazzles in a sizzling shoot” in heat.

Pistorius attracted world attention this week at the able-bodied World Athletics Championships in Daegu, South Korea.

Voters stand a chance to win R10 000 in cash plus other cool prizes worth over R80 000, including a PS3, BlackBerry and Givenchy shades.

Voting lines are open until October 29 and voters can either text “HOT” and the name of the celeb they want to vote for to 32248, or vote online at www.heathot100.co.za.
