Hot on the box

2009-11-09 00:00

THE top 21 contestants in SABC2’s SA’s Got Talent go head to head this week for the chance to win R250 000.

They will be divided into groups of seven and will compete in live shows tonight, tomorrow night and Wednesday night from 7.30 to 8.30 pm.

Each of these live shows will be followed with a live results show from 9.30 to 10 pm, during which one contestant voted for by the public and one by the judges (Randall Abrahams, Shado Twala and Ian von Memerty) will be put through to the final on Thursday at 7.30 pm.

Among the acts competing in the final are the group Ubumbano from Port Shepstone, whose lead singer is a full-time security guard, and hearing-impaired hip-hop dancer Darren Rajbal from Durban.

The inaugural winner of SA’s Got Talent will be chosen by public vote only and will be announced during the results show, from 9.30 to 10 pm. To vote, send an SMS with the word TALENT, followed by a number from 1 to 7 which represents the act each night, to 34768. Each SMS will be charged at R2. Or call 083 913 4768 and follow the voice prompts. Calls charged at standard cellular rates.
