WILL & Grace star Debra Messing is back in a new comedy drama, T he Starter Wife, which will be broadcast from Monday to Wednesday at 9 pm on SABC3.

Messing plays Molly Kagan, a woman who seems to have it all — a wonderful husband, an adorable daughter, a Brentwood mansion, and thanks to her husband’s Hollywood connections, access to the best tables at the hottest restaurants in town.

But just before her 10-year anniversary, her husband calls to tell her he wants a divorce, and Molly is left on her own, without a social life or her so-called friends. So she picks herself up and goes to Malibu to make new friends and start her life over.

TODAY

• Hustle — BBC Entertainment (DStv channel 120), 8.30 pm: Mickey is back in London, and while the credit crunch has hit Britain, there are still a greedy few getting ever richer and he’s keen to part them from their cash.

• The Fixer – BBC Entertainment (DStv channel 120), 9.30 pm: In this drama series, an undercover team — Mercer, the passionate assassin trapped by his past; Rose, the intuitive ex-cop; Calum, the reckless petty thief; and their calculating boss, Lenny — deal with criminals who are outside the normal reaches of the law.

TOMORROW

• PAs — BBC Entertainment (DStv channel 120), 9.30 pm: The series follows the fortunes of four personal assistants in the City of London. When one of the group goes missing, it sets in motion a shocking chain of events — will they be able to solve the mystery and avert tragedy?

WEDNESDAY

• Top Travel — SABC3, 8 pm: Jeannie and Janez cruise down the Canal du Midi and visit the village of Minerve and the picturesque city of Beziers in the South of France.

THURSDAY

• The Mating Game — SABC2, 9.30 pm: This local drama series explores the lives of three women trying to juggle work, motherhood, love and friendship. It’s Valentine’s Day and 29-year-old radio DJ Grace is still single. Then she meets the mysterious Warren, who leaves her hot under the collar.

FRIDAY

• M3: Music Moves Me — SABC2, 4.30 pm: Raphael Griffiths presents SABC2’s new music show, which aims to celebrate Mzansi’s musical talents and inspire a new generation of musos to be proudly South African. The first episode features an interview with the Ventilation Master and a chat with producer RJ Benjamin, who is in studio recording his new album.
