IS it humanly possible for two men to walk unaided the last ten degrees to the South Pole? Sibu Vilane and Alex Harris teamed up to try and encountered everything nature could throw at them during their 70 day walk.

In South, on SABC2 at 7.30 pm tonight, the two men share their joy, pain, hopes and fears with viewers at they pull the sleds containing their food and shelter behind them. Will they make it? You’ll have to watch South to find out.

Other highlights this week include:

MONDAY

• Nestlé Active Show (SABC2, 5.45 am): Become a fitter, healthier version of yourself by tuning into this fitness show for a workout session and nutritional advice. The best thing? It’s free and requires no complicated equipment or fancy gym clothing.

• The Amazing Race (SABC3, 8 pm): Fans of the series can’t afford to miss tonight’s final episode in which Ronald and Christina Hsu, TK Erwin and Rachel Rosales, and Nicolas Fulks and Donald Jerousek race to win the one million dollar prize.

• Motswako (SABC2, 9.30 pm): Generations caused a stir with an on-screen kiss between Senzo and Jason. The actors who play them join Motswako in studio to reveal how the soapie has evolved to include acceptance of a still very taboo sexual orientation.

TUESDAY

• Africa Inc (SABC3, 8 pm): South Africa is a country bursting with development projects, but recruitment agencies and the private sector are battling to find people able to provide the skills to do them. Africa Inc takes a closer look at the issues around skills development in tomorrow night’s episode.

WEDNESDAY

• Top Travel (SABC3, 8 pm): Jeannie D and Janez visit the Amazon jungle in Wednesday’s episode. They catch a glimpse of animals from a boat, take a night walk and enjoy a tasty lunch in the middle of the jungle.

THURSDAY

• Brothers & Sisters (M-Net (DStv channel 101), 8.30 pm: You can’t afford to miss Thursday night’s episode, the first in a two-part finale during which the Walker family experiences joy with a birth and desperation when one of the family has a life-threatening crisis.

FRIDAY

• The View (SABC3, 11.25 am): Veteran actress Shirley MacLaine, who has also authored a number of books about spirituality, will discuss radionics — the practice of healing people from a remote location — with the team.

• The Jonathan Ross Show (BBC Entertainment (DStv channel 120), 9.30 pm): House star Hugh Laurie headlines the guests on Friday night’s show.

He will be joined by actor Dustin Hoffman and soccer legend Eric Cantona.
