IPL: Cheerleader will tell her story when she is ready

2011-05-14 00:00

IPL CHEERLEADER Gabriella Pasqualotto is completely amazed by the media frenzy surrounding her story this week. Pasqualotto was sacked and sent home last week after she was caught blogging about the life of an IPL cheerleader.

She has been swamped by the local and international media and has become an overnight celebrity with everyone wanting to know the exact details of what she saw.

They especially want to know if she will spill the beans about which naughty cricketers were allegedly bonking the cheerleaders.

But an exhausted Pasqualotto said this week, “I just want to tell my story in my own way, when I am ready. It is not a sordid story and I never wanted to get anyone into trouble in the first place. I was just angry at the way I was treated.”

“I think I had a right to complain about the way I was treated by the cheerleading managers and the IPL who completely overreacted. That was my story, I think there are others who should have a guilty conscience, but I am not a person who tells tales or causes trouble,” she said.

Pasqualotto hopes to continue writing about her experience as it was a life-changing experience for a young woman who have never travelled abroad before.

After hours they were escorted to exotic clubs and hotels to eat and drink fine food, and dressed in lavish clothes. Their job was to be admired and to mingle with the cricketers. She says it was an experience she will never forget, and certainly one she has learnt from.

“I have received fantastic support from Twitter fans, who are behind me 100 percent, and I hope I can use this experience in the future. But I am actually just trying to cope with all the attention. Sometimes I just want to run and hide,” she added.
