IPL: Ganguly in vintage form in Knight Riders' win over deccan chargers

2010-04-02 00:00

A VINTAGE display by skipper Sauruv Ganguly helped the Kolkata Knight Riders to a vital 24-run win over the Deccan Chargers at Eden Gardens, Kolkata yesterday.

Ganguly smashed 88 off 54 balls, with five massive sixes sent into the capacity crowd.

The innings evoked memories of Ganguly’s heyday, when he was one of the world’s best ODI batsmen.

Ganguly held the Kolkata charge together, batting through to the 17th over.

Only David Hussey made a worthwhile stand, with 31 off 27 balls.

Kolkata Knight Riders 181 for 6 (Ganguly 88, Hussey 31, Symonds 2-26, Jaskaran 2-18) beat Deccan Chargers 157 for 5 (Gibbs 50, Symonds 45) by 24 runs
