Ipswich Town: Khumalo impresses in trial game

2013-07-18 00:00

JOHANNESBURG — Former Bafana Bafana skipper Bongani Khumalo has impressed Ipswich Town in another trial game.

According to the Soccer-Laduma website, the 26-year-old defender hopes to extend his stay in English football, even though there is no place for him at his parent club, Tottenham Hotspur.

He already played in one pre-season game for the Tractor Boys before Tuesday night’s 2-1 at Gillingham.

Ipswich manager Mick McCarthy had been impressed by Khumalo’s first showing against Crawley Town, and he has once again had good things to say about the Swaziland-born former SuperSport United star.
