KZN Inland skittled for 65

2010-11-20 00:00

THE Wanderers in Windhoek was not a happy hunting ground for the KZN Inland batsmen yesterday as the Maritzburg lads were back in the hut for a meagre 65.

This Provincial Three-Day Challenge match sees Namibia 252 runs ahead with six second-innings wickets intact as the contest goes into its final day. Resuming on 74 for one yesterday, the overnight score after play after lunch on day one had been lost to rain, Namibia battled to 186 all out. Inland’s swing and seam exponent, Rudi Hillermann, picked up five for 53.

At 42 for two and Brad Moses on 25, Inland’s first innings reply was looking competent until absolute mayhem ensued with the last eight wickets falling for just 23 runs. Christi Viljoen and Sarel Burger did the damage with four wickets apiece, the last four tumbling in seven balls without a run being scored.

The 40-over match takes place tomorrow.
