KZN Inland teams selected

THE KZN Inland U18 and U16 girls’ hockey teams have been named to take part in national tournaments next month.

The national U18 tournament takes place at Kearsney from July 8 to 13.

The national U16 tournament is in Potchefstroom from July 1 to 6 and will include the KZN Inland U16 side as well as the KZN Country Districts U16 team.

The Inland U16 team came third at the national U16 tournament last year with the following players selected for the national squads:

SA U16 squad: Natalie Esteves (St John’s); Nompilo Tehnjawayo (GHS), Prudence Qwesha (Voortrekker).

SA U18B: Paige Phillips (St Anne’s).

KZN Inland U18 (all uMgungundlovu district): Rachael Barnard (Epworth); Chiree Coetzee, Mbali Mngomezulu, Nomzi Zulu, Londeke Dlamini, Buhle Zondi (all Pietermaritzburg GHS); Natalie Esteves, Andrea Davies (both St John’s); Spoen Green, Hannah Moxham, Kate Polkinghorne, Paige Phillips (all St Anne’s); Kylee McLoughlin (Treverton); Sarah Dixon, Nicola Deenin, Melissa Glutz (all The Wykeham Collegiate).

KZN Inland U16 (all uMgungundlovu): Catherine Pringle (Epworth); Polly Mashau, Emihle Methusi (both GHS); Angelica Fardella, Julia Saulez, Calla Wilford (all St Anne’s); Emily O’Neill, Aimee Pousson (both St John’s); Kate Armitage, Jeanne Botha (both Treverton); Heidie Rencken (GHS); Bailey le Roux, Megan Smith, Jemma Veenstra (all TWC); Prudence Qwesha (Voortrekker).
