KWAZULU-NATAL teams triumphed at the South African Polocrosse Club Championships held in Richmond over the weekend.

The closely contested final ended with a hard fought 19-17 win for the Phezula team from Bishopstowe over hosts Richmond “A”.

The handicap final was another closely fought affair, with Mooi River beating Richmond “C” in a sudden death play-off.

Around 210 players from across South Africa took part in the championships at Richmond Country Club. Former South African players were among those who attended the event.

Polocrosse is a combination of polo and lacrosse in which men and women play alternate chukkas.
