KZN takes a break, except for Glenwood and College

2009-07-25 00:00

THE rest of the provinces in the country are still involved in rugby fixtures, but in KZN rugby was completed at the end of last term. That is except for Glenwood and Maritzburg College, but neither are playing today.

Glenwood had arranged to play Monument from Krugers-dorp, but the latter have withdrawn as they have to play a Beeld trophy match against Marais Viljoen. Both College and Glenwood are using today for interhouse seven-a-side rugby in the various age groups.

Next week they will both be in Pretoria, Glenwood against Affies and College against Pretoria BHS. Thereafter, College play Glenwood and a week later Glenwood play Grey College.

There are a few British schools out on rugby tours and Hillcrest played one yesterday and Weston play next week.

The 2009 rugby season is over and schools now begin a short soccer season where games are played on Saturdays and midweek at most of the schools.

Maritzburg College are playing hockey against Clifton today and will continue to play hockey over the next few weeks.
