Link: KZN Dept of Sport gets help

2008-04-16 00:00

THE KwaZulu-Natal Department for Sport and Recreation (DSR) officially formalised its partnerships with three core entities central to the delivery of its programmes, through the signing of memoranda of understanding (MOU) yesterday.

Lovelife Trust, Age in Action and the regional department of Correctional Services each participated in the signing of their separate MOUs in the ceremony, which was held at the DSR’s offices.

While these entities have worked with the DSR in the past, they said this venture will add value to the effectiveness of their programmes.

In her speech, DSR head Sumayya Khan said all these partnerships will help the department deliver on one of its most essential programmes: recreation.

“DSR falls under the social cluster and, therefore, part of our mandate is the building of lives through recreation. Our partners are critical to us meeting that mandate,” said Khan.
